Description
I was retained by the Lake Highlands Public Improvement District a second time to create art to vinyl wrap a traffic cabinet — a 6' tall metal box containing traffic signal electronics.
A butterfly theme was suggested to signify the rebirth of the formerly plighted intersection. The initial design was conceived using Midjourney AI image generator using various prompts. A refined image was converted to vectors and edited in Adobe Illustrator to create a seamless repeating pattern. The design is inspired by 1960s pop art and the idea that an abstract composition becomes objective art from driving distance.
The cabinet wrap was installed February 2024.
